Margarita Starkevičiūtė is the only Lithuanian MEP who takes active part in three key EP committees in charge of economic issues. The Member of the European Parliament has authorisation of these committees and the ALDE Group to attend to the EP issues of significance for all EU Member States, the Lithuanian people and local business community. Margarita Starkevičiūtė prepares amendments to the legislation deliberated at the EP, presents reports and speeches to plenary sessions of the Parliament.
ACTIVITIES IN LITHUANIA
MEP Starkevičiūtė meets and informs the Lithuanian electorate about the documents under consideration at the European Parliament and the expected impact of its decisions on local residents and business.
Prior to making important decisions, Margarita Starkevičiūtė always consults residents, business and academic communities, and NGOs. She also initiates study tours to the EP for groups of the representatives of Lithuanian professional, educational and other organisations.
